No matter what COOLSOURCE color you specify it will always be “GREEN”. “GREEN” is for today’s environment but even more important as we collectively change our world for future generations. IMPORTANT SAVING TIPS FOR AMERICANS – How to go “GREEN”
You probably noticed the R (reflectivity) and an E (emissivity) under each color. The numbers beside the R are telling you the Energy Star reflective rating of each color. Next to the reflective rating is an E. The E is the emissivity number. The higher the R and the higher the E numbers are the more money you save on your cooling cost every month. This is stated by the Cool Roof Council (www.coolmetalroofing.com) on the SAVING ENERGY page. Since you have had an Energy Star approved roof installed you will be eligible for government, some state and often local utility company rebates. Federal Rebate’s up to 10% of your material purchase or maximum of $1500 may be available. Many standing seams also work well with Photovoltaic Systems if you are interested in Solar Energy efficiencies. DO NOT be fooled by metal roofing that claims to be cool roof—look for the ENERGY STAR LABEL and number on every color for energy efficiencies.
